Of course, you must first be a member of SCCA before doing all of the above. It looks complicated but with the use of fax machines, credit card payment, it’s not that difficult.
After completing a minimum of 3 or 4 flat track events, (like CMP or VIR), the SEDivision TT Steward, Steve Tompkins, will take your novice logbook that is filled in after each event, and then upgrade you to full TT license status after which you may race hillclimbs.
Each year, once you’ve modified the car, you’ll get in “annualed” as in annual tech inspection and a sticker will be placed on the car. That tells each tech inspector at each track that you’ve done that. At the first annual, the car and you will be issued a blue SCCA Club Racing logbook. That is separate from the white TT Novice logbook.
