Just a couple of comments. Why did we shut down at 4:30 with about six cars
still in line? I did notice many cars
without the required Cool Shirt decals.
We need to keep the sponsors wanting to
continue donating to our sport. Rich
Shafer was at the meeting Sunday morning,
but was not introduced. Good event guys!

The wrecker service (a donation by the shop) had to leave at 4:30. Tony will have to comment on the other items.

Hopefully next year we can have Promotional
Banners for the Event posted in front of the Eagles Nest Entrance..Especially with
Scca and Cool Shirt listed as Sponsors and of course the dates of the Event. It almost felt like nobody cared about promoting the Event from Eagles Nest.

The mention of sponsors was my responsibility to do on Sunday. Learning that Tommy was present caused me to become too emotional to continue my train of thought and thankfully, Steve and Tommy stepped up to help keep things going. I humbly apologize to all of our sponsors for failing to note their generosity.
Dan’s right, there was very little pre-event promotion by our local hosts. They’ve been suffering in this economy just like many businesses. EN has gone from over 100 full-time employees to fewer than 20 at the moment. They did not have the budget nor did we to do much to promote the event. As we had lost our main sponsor, we were not completely certain that we would be able to do, if anything, to promote this event. We decided to pull in our belts (no easy task for some of us) and cut our budget as much as possible.
We have a lot of lessons-learned from this event. We also welcome comments and suggestions from anyone who came to the event: workers, drivers, crew and spectators that may lead to our putting on a better event. We have 2 great hill climbs in our region. We certainly appreciate the support of our sponsors of this event: Cool Shirt, Banner Elk Exxon, Quattro South, Russell Body Shop and Best Western Mountain Lodge. We are also grateful to have had the support of the Banner Elk Fire Department for each year of this event. Last, we appreciate the support of drivers and workers who come to this event and make it as good as it is and will be.
