This is a joint event with SCR. Saturday (Dec 4) is SCR’s points event, Sunday (Dec 5) is CCR’s points event.You can run Sunday only or do both days. If you choosed to run both days you get a discount.SCR is handling registration for the event, here are the links.

Because this is joint event with Central Carolinas Region SCCA, we will only be handling payment on site. Therefore there is no penalty for canceling your registration, nor any penalty for on site payment.

On Carowinds Blvd go past the main entrance to the park.
Go through the next stop light (Pleasant Rd).
The next opening to the right is the entrance.
You can see the Thunder Road roller coaster at that entrance. There’s also a sign for Camp Wilderness and it’s just before the NC state line.

The Tarheel Sports Car Club is hosting this annual event and welcomes the following clubs that are competing in this event.

The event is Oct 2-3rd at the Sanford ESTC. This is a great site with plenty of room for a great course, grid, pit and spectating.

We will also have some test drives available after the days event. Details on test drives are coming as we work out details with Flow Mini.

You will have to register for both days if you plan to run on both days and be eligible to trophy in your class. Price is 25 per day prepaid via paypal or 30 per day if you pay on site. If you run both days for the NCAC, a t-shirt is provided. Lunch is provided both days. THSCC will also be running some local classes of TIRe, OF (old farts) and X.

Dinner and a class… Heard about the SOLO Safety Steward program? Interested in becoming a SSS? This is the meeting for you. Our own John Byrd is a SSS instructor and will be doing the class for certification.

Meet between 6:00 and 6:30 for dinner. Class will start between 7:30 and 7:45.

CCR-SCCA will once again be participating in the Food Lion Auto Fair at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

CCR will be displaying 10 cars on Saturday and Sunday.

The rules / conditions for showing
The car MUST be able to get into the Speedway under its own power. NO towing, pushing or dragging.
Trailered cars must be unloaded behind the Speedway and driven in through the back tunnel.
Your car must be clean. You are representing CCR and the SCCA. Over 100,000 people attend Auto Fair. We want to present good looking cars for them.

NO FOR SALE SIGNS! Let me say that again, NO FOR SALE SIGNS!
NO grilling.

The show is a full day. We’ll be meeting in the morning at 6:15-6:30 and have to stay at the track until late in the afternoon. If you cannot be at the show for the entire day please do not ask to attend.

Meeting place is the Ruby Tuesday’s next to Jack In The Box on Speedway / Bruton Smith Bvld.

You can attend Saturday or Sunday or both days.

There is no admission or parking charges. You get a pass for your car, you and a guest. You can bring food, drink, chairs, sunscreen, etc. NO GRILLS!

Any kind of SCCA-related car is acceptable. Street, SOLO, time trial, road race, hillclimb… just make sure it’s clean.

The SCCA Southwest chapter of Central Carolinas will be meeting at Quaker Steak and Lube this thursday, August 12.

We will eat from 6 to 7 and meet from 7 to 8:30. THIS would be a great meeting to invite a friend that loves sports cars from work or from the neighborhood !

WE will be recapping a number of recent events from Eagle’s Nest Hillclimb,  Bele Chere autocross, CSCC plans for coming year and upcoming Carolina Cup Pro Series race weekend combined with a Time Trial and PDX at Carolina Motorsports Park next month!
