Something for Everyone

When you’re ready to race against the clock, Club Trials is ready for you. The second level of the program, Club Trials builds on the instruction you received in the PDE while allowing drivers their first chance at competing against time. Competition classes are formed (with both street and fully-prepared race cars), and winners are decided by fastest time around the course. Club Trials is your first real taste of Motorsports competition and is the perfect appetizer before you move to Track Trials and Hill Climbs, the main courses of the Time Trials program.

Street cars no longer cut it at Track Trials. Only cars prepared for Road Racing, Club Trial or Time Trial events are allowed as speeds and intensity levels are higher. The tier-three program offers closed-course track time, with competitions again decided by fastest time around the course.

CCR-SCCA Introduces Second Gear

Posted by rich.little, March 5, 2010

The Central Carolinas Region is proud to offer a new program designed to help novice time trial drivers and road racers get started. We realize getting started in racing is expensive and we’d like to help. Through the SECOND GEAR program, we have collected an inventory of used racing gear that was donated by drivers in the southeastern racing community for your use. This gear is being offered at no charge for competition in specific SCCA SEDIV events. We have a variety of sizes in drivers suits, gloves, and shoes which will allow you to put your money in other areas so you can make your first racing experiences affordable.

Visit the Second Gear web page for full information!

Welcome WRHC sponsors Learning Curve Racing and CHAP LLC!

Posted by rich.little, April 27, 2009

Learning Curve Racing – Learning Curve Racing is a new company founded by Steve Cooke (BMW and Skip Barber Driving Instructor, SAARC driver). LCR provides personal coaching services for drivers wanting to raise the level of their competitive driving skills. Steve feels that to improve you have to look at the car and driver as a system rather than separate components. Not all problems can be solved tuning the car or by just training the driver. Being able to do trackside tuning and setup changes to the car while offering detailed analysis and feedback to the driver, the best improvement can be realized in one and two day sessions. Steve will not be able to attend Wolf Ridge but will have flyers available at the event. rxracer@juno.com Steve Cooke (864) 320-4586
CHAP LLC - Steve Hampton will be present at Wolf Ridge Hillclimb. Steve offers automotive industry race car design, fabrication and tuning along with industrial manufacturing assistance in prototype, machine design and fabrication. http://www.chapllc.net/index.html Steve Hampton (864) 915-1776
